About
Born and raised in Rockland, Maine, I have always been fascinated with the landscapes and seascapes within my world. As a little girl, I remember observing my surroundings tightly; taking mental notes of colors, shapes, reflections and shadows, and that insight has yet to leave me. I see paintings when I hike a local path, and see crevices, shades and curves whenever I sketch the human form. I am in love with it all.
In my paintings & sketch work, I give myself allowance to be expressive without rules, apology, comparison and condemnation. Life has proven to be ever-evolving with limitless boundaries. I try to incorporate that attitude in all of my work.
Painting also gives me freedom to express what I am feeling or viewing at the moment. It’s a transcendent, divine and a boundless experience. Whenever I approach a new canvas or surface, I not only feel intuitive and a sense of reverence to the natural form that I am observing, I also give my inner voice the chance to change the scale, dimensions and colors as it speaks to me. Those initial, vibrant moments are some of the most addictive feelings within the entire process, and it pulls me in and it keeps me coming back for more.
